Ha, Nobody believed me! So, I tuckered down, and I got some proof that the inheritance cycle/The Eragon series is crap, and terribly done.
Okay, I have a few quotes from the Books that will demonstrate the authors terrible ability to write:
1. "If seen by chance, you could be attacked by 'magic'." - Eldest.
What, the, fuck? I spotted that whilst browsing down Eldest, the second book. Now, what's wrong with that you may ask? Well, I'll tell you, IT'S ATTEMPTED CLICHE! But, the author has failed at doing the simplest of all writing tactics. He worded it terribly, and it doesn't make to much sense.
Oh, NOES not magic! I think he needs to go into more detail? But anyway, on to the next eh?
2. "With his last breath, Fajihad closed his eyes."
Now, I may've spelled his name wrong, but the point I am Making is clear. HE CLOSED HIS EYES, USING HIS LAST BREATH?!?!?!? What the hell is that? I wish I could open and close my eyes by breathing. And that is such an anti-climatic thing to do. "With his last breath, he closed his eyes." Kind of a let down really.
Both of those quotes are from Eldest. And these are just a few among thousands of dumb, cliche and terribly written lines.
Okay, now something different.
Now, anyone can see that Eragon is cliche, and copied off other books, so intern the author must not have a very good imagination. Well, I think that's true, you may not believe me, but this may sway your judgment.
Eragon
The name of the first book, and the name of the main character. Seems like a harmless enough name, but is sounds dangerously close to 'Aragon', one of the main characters of Lord of the Rings. Now, I don't think that he copied it from there, no one is that stupid. What I think he did is got the word:
'Dragon'
And thought, "Hmm, I am making a book about Dragons, so, I should give the main character a dragony name. How about... Hmm, this is hard. I know, I will just take the word 'Dragon' And put another letter in from, and that may make a cool sounding name. Hmm, what is the next letter in the alphabet? 'E' I think. Oh, this is great!"
So we have 'Eragon'. Ingenious.
That's the least creative name I have ever heard.
Though, that can not be said about many of the other characters in the book, most of there names are indecipherable. And many are just multiple words stuck together. This man, is truly a genius.
Now, a lot of you may still be fans of these books, some may've never read them, incidentally, if you haven't read these books, DON'T, don't let your lives be ruined.
Thanks for reading my pointless rambling, but I really don't like these books.
