Some of you will already know about my plans for the new school club, Wyota. This club, Wyota, involves all those who are interested in, or want to learn more about anime, manga, or just Japan itself. Things like Manga Art Competitions, Quizzes on Japan or anime and more are all part of this, as well as watching anime in front of the big projectors, and out-of-school outings on weekends or holidays. We will also be talking about the Japanese language, culture, etc. in general. The group will run for anyone interested in years 7 and up. Wyota is run every Monday and Friday lunchtime in D14, and is available to everyone from years 7 and up who are interested. CURRENT ANIME SCHEDULE:Solty Rei -Howl's Moving Castle- -Fullmetal Alchemist-You can, if you so dearly wish, bring an episode of your favourite series in to show to us all (on a Friday, as Mondays are our regular anime-watching days o.o), however it is preferred you speak to me or another leader before organising that kind of thing. Outings that I have been planning so far include things like Group Conventions, a concert, a day out to Sydney (where we will visit places like JapanCity and Kinokuniya and will eat lunch at a Japanese Ramen Restaraunt), Cosplay Lazer Zone (you don't NEED cosplays but it makes it extra fun), bowling, gaming nights, theatres, parties at members houses and more. There will also be a monthly newsletter given to everyone in the group each month explaining other things. Food such as chips, cookies, etc. will be eaten on Mondays. This will only continue if others provide food as well. The Wyota Info day is this Friday (27/02/09). The first actual Wyota club meeting is on Monday the 2nd of March, 2009 (unless otherwise specified). Please list any suggestions you may have. Thankya.

The point is to get people involved. They may even ask us to HAVE at least 15-20 people in the club before they'll accept it. It's not just, 5 people in a room. That would suck. We're not just doing anime/manga, we're doing the culture as well, so a wide range of people can be involved.

It does sound good. I'll join but I don't know the chances of it getting accepted. I mean will there be a teacher supervising everything we do 'cause that would suck.

There will need to be a club advisor (teacher) however they may not have to be in the classroom with us. Usually in Wycliffe clubs, teachers ARE in the room with students, but in Bible Studies, etc, there isn't. Anyway, if there is a teacher in the room it will stop people from being idiots and ruining the purpose of the club. We'll have to wait until Monday to find out what will happen.
Mrs. Elkington already knows I'm really into Japanese Culture and stuff, so if I ask her outside of SRC (she's the SRC advisor anyway), she might allow us to do it.; SHe may also be the Club Advsior, and because (I hope) she trusts me a little, she may allow us to have D14 and occasionally have the D-Block duty teacher to check in once or twice during lunchtime to make sure we aren't being idiots (WHICH WE WON'T BE). However, even if ELko is the advisor and requires her to be in the room with us, she's pretty easy going. Let's just see what happens.

Of course, there won't be a teacher coming to our Outings (unless a teacher gets so into Wyto that they actually join as a regular Member and then come along, but they wouldn't have any power outside of school o.o; ), or out-of-school activities.
