this is the *offical* dinasaur thread,talk on your opninions on how the dinasaurs got extinct!
my theory:There have been many kinds of different theories about the extinction, but the most of the theories are just guesses. The problem with the theories is that it is based on very few actual facts, and therefore it is only your logical sense that can judge which theory is the right. The following text contains different kinds of dinosaur extinction, from meteor that landed on earth to the theory about the dinosaurs getting to big and fat. It is up to you what you think that could have destroyed the dinosaurs.
The Meteorimpact
Theory: The meteor hit the earth with an incredible speed, and the impact must have been so great that it would have covered the whole planet with dust- and waterclouds. The sun could not reach through the clouds, and then the plants did not get their energy and the temperature fell to under the freezing point. Not all animals died at once, the scavengers could still find food to eat, but they could not stand the cold. If the meteor was radioactive then the cold-blooded dinosaurs did not have a chance to survive.
Places: In the middle of the eighties they found under an excavation an enormous amount of the element Iridium.

This was shocking news for scientist, because they had never found Iridium so close to the surface of the earth. The conclusion became that it was a meteor that had hit the earth and taken the element Iridium with.
When scientist found a giant crater from a meteor in Flagstaff, Arizona, USA, they were sure of this was the meteor that destroyed the dinosaurs. The crater was named "Canyon Diablo" is over 1.2 kilometers and 180 meters deep. Scientist says that this could be the real dinosaur extinction crater, because in Italy they could not find any crater.
Finally there is a crater by the Wolf Greek in Australia and by the carbor-14 method scientist has proven that this crater is over 64 million years old.
Popularity: These theories are very popular, because of the growing knowledge about how a nuclear war influence the today’s environment.
Conflict: A permanent worldwide nuclear damage would be killing all animals, but all the fish and mammals survived.
Cannibalism
Theory: One of the theories is that the flesh-eating dinosaurs ate all the plant-eating dinosaurs and after a while themselves.
Conflict: This could be right but what about the flowers. The flesh-eaters are not built to eat plants so why did the flower extinct.
Poisonous Plants
Theory: If some plants were poisonous the dinosaurs could have eaten them and not survived.
Conflict: Poisoned plants that no animal can resist would be on the earth forever, but if the plants mysterious disappeared then the scientist have not found any poisoned plants.
Too thick
Theory: This theory is about the dinosaurs getting thicker and one day they have ate so much that could not move.
Conflict: If the plant-eating dinosaurs got thicker then the flesh-eating dinosaurs would just have more food and they would live like kings.
Ice age
Theory: An ice age could have come and then all the dinosaurs would freeze to death.
Conflict: Scientist have not found a single trace of ice age in the period the dinosaurs lived
Volcano Chain Reaction
Theory: Some believe that the large numbers of volcanoes was having the largest chain reaction ever seen.

Conflict: A volcano chain reaction is rather unrealistic. What are the odds of all the volcanoes should become active at one time. Why was the fish and the mammals not killed, a worldwide volcano chain reaction would defiantly kill all species on earth.

Maybe God didn't think the dinosaurs would work with humans, who knows?
