Crillic held the letter he just received in his hand, frowning and re-reading it several times, making sure it said what he thought it said, but he wondered if he would ever- Suddenly, a puffed out young man appeared in front of him, cutting off the thought that still lingered in Crillic's mind. "C-crillic," The man puffed, "Yes, Niore?" Crillic asked, "Onyrr and Turan gave me this letter and it's...it's surprising, take a look," Niore told Crillic.
Crillic skimmed the first few sentences then realized it was the same as his own letter, both of which were sent from the Council themselves.
"I know...I was given the same letter," Crillic told him, "Really? That's odd, they don't usually talk to that many people, not at once anyway," Niore said curiously.
"Well, I guess-" Crillic was interrupted by a child running about, a small and pearly white Pidgeon fluttering around him, releasing starry sparkles as it lifted it's wings. "I guess Mote is really getting in touch with it, he's one of your most gifted students isn't he?" Crillic asked Niore, "Yeah, and the most curious!" Niore laughed.
Crillic enjoyed Niore's company, he didn't have many friends, probably because he was very solitary and kept to himself a lot, but Niore was a good friend, and Crillic was relieved to know someone else was given the same letter.

"Another morning" he sighed, "It always makes me wonder how much can be accomplished between light and darkness" The door opened with a gentle push, and Pyzak turned quickly, leaving his thoughts aside, "Edren?" "Yes. Good morning, Emperor" "Oh. Thank you" Edren walked a few steps closer to the Emperor as the door was closed by the guards behind him, leaving the two alone. "Hm. You know, I was just thinking... How much do you think is able to be accomplished in one day?" Interesting question... "...It depends n the goals of the people" "Among other things" Pyzak added abruptly. Edren remained silent, and a short moment of nothingness seemed to come and go without notice. "Never mind my ramblings" Pyzak decided, turning to sit down. Edren smiled for a second, but it didn't last long, "...Well, Emperor. How much shall we accomplish this day?"

"Well, I have another class today, see you," Niore told Crillic, before walking away. Crillic got up too, and was almost pushed back down when Mort ran right past him, his pidgeon still flying around him.
Crillic sighed and put the letter in his pocket, the proposition still lingering through his mind...

Many people envied Edren's position inside the Palace. People would always be nice to him, but it was so easy to tell when they were just covering up their jealousy. There were those few that really did appreciate him and his friendship, and he respected that. Edren had known for many years that the guards in the Palace didn't even care about the people they were protecting, in fact, some that had been assigned to protect Edren openly despised doing so, and thus despised him as well.
Ever since this realisation, combined with his love of solitary, Edren has requested that the Emperor dismiss his guards. This just made them hate him more, as they were posted to lesser ranks and recieved mostly lesser pay. But Edren didn't have to see them that much anymore anyway.
"Signed, Vizier Edren of the Empire, With His consent, being of the Emperor." Edren scribbled his messy signature and sighed. He stood and brought the letter over to the Emperor, who read it through before handing it back to the vizier. "Thank you" he said, staring out to the balcony, "It's getting late.... If you would deliver the letter to the messenger I'd see you dismissed for today." Edren bowed, "Thank you"
Edren exited the throne room and down a long series of old staircases that made for the walk to the Throne Room, before coming to a bench near the bottom, before the heavily-guarded door that led out from the Imperial Family's Sections (which Edren was currently in). The official Messenger for the Emperor and the Imperial Family was posted here constantly. There was two of them, and they changed shifts twice every day. Currently posted, Edren knew, would be Hyshale, the oldest of the two messengers who, unlike the other, was aged somewhere in their 60s. This has not been the case with past Messengers of the Family, as the young are faster in delivering the Messages, however, Hyshale was once a mentor to Pyzak, and so Pyzak still respects him enough to keep him posted here.
Edren placed the message on the bench, "Hyshale, I have a Message from the Emperor" Hyshale's familiar face raised itself and nodded to Edren, "I will deliver it, m'lord" Edren gave him the instructions and made it back up the stairs, but not all the way. To the right was a hardly-noticeable exit-door that led to another staircase that led outside, to Family Gardens, and Edren's residence, which was located to the back of the Gardens.
His stroll through the Gardens hastened abruptly when a crack of thunder signalled rain. It had just begun to drop from the sky as he rushed into his house and sighed.

Crillic met with an elderly man towards the outside of the forest, his face was always in the same, expressionless form and it seemed as though the man hadn't even noticed Crillic sitting down next to him, the man turned his neck ever so slightly as he addressed him, "Have you thought about the proposal?" He asked dryly, "Yes. I'm not sure yet, I'd live up amongst the Mountain of Called Spirits wouldn't I?" Crillic asked curiously, "...Yes. With the rest of the Council, you'd be treated like a king if you accepted," The man replied after several long, paused moments. "True. But I'm still a little worried about leaving the Forest, I mean, it's where the Spirits dwell the strongest," Crillic replied, overlooking the many glowing animals and people throughout his view. "If I leave, what will happen to Neircest?" Crillic asked, as his small, golden butterfly fluttered around him. "He'd go with you, Heu'rai's will follow you 'til death."
Crillic stood up and bowed, with the man slowly and tiredly nodding his head down in response, "Thank you, Elder, You've helped me see things much more clearly," He smiled before turning and going back deeper into the Forest.

His house was simple for a vizier, everything was placed in it's own unique place, ordered and stored exactly where Edren felt it wanted to be ordered and stored. He refused maids to clean his house, or even anyone other then those higher then him to enter it, thus giving the wrong impression that he was a very untidy, unorganised man, when really he was not.
Edren walked through his small house humming a little tune he had heard that afternoon whilst a musician played for the Emperor. It was intricate with many trills that Edren tried to get right numerous times, but failed, so instead he began to work on a harmony, adding to the already beautiful piece as he went. But no-one would ever hear the music inside his head except for himself, and anyone else he was to share his thoughts with, which wasn't many who would care for such matters at all.
At the far end of his house, in a corner, was a simple end table with nothing on it except a simple white sheet of medium quality that hung down over the table, giving it subtle decoration. Edren knelt down and lifted up an end of the sheet, revealing to himself a hole in the floor, and a wooden ladder leading to a large basement under his house that not many knew of. He climbed down into it and removed the old planks of wood he kept up high so that it would block out the small windows that sat atop the basement ceiling. They were just big enough that if Edren lined his index finger up from top to bottom, it would fit just right. He had tried this many a time, but it seemed his finger had grown a little larger then the windowspace now. He kept liking to check everytime though, just to make sure it hadn't shrunk or anything.
A dim light entered the room, but it wasn't much as outside the clouds had already gathered and rain poured more heavily. He could just barely see the box of matches he kept on one of the desks and lit the candles in time before it grew much too dark outside, and he put the slabs of wood back in their places in the high windowsills.

...She swam in the water, laughing with the fishes... ...She whipped her hair around her head as she jumped out of the water... ...As she sat with the animals, she dipped her head into the water, smiling... ...Suddenly, the entire pool of water shimmered with a bright blue sparkling shade...
"There she is..." Crillic whispered to himself, sighing from behind a tree, "Always there, every morning, every day...." Crillic sighed and fell back onto the tree, taking a deep breath and reassuring himself that today was the day that he admitted he was inexcusably obsessed with her, not a word Crillic could say would be even close to describing her.
As she lay there in the water, Crillic stepped out into the open...

With the candles lit, he placed them around a medium-sized, ancient desk in to the back of the room, and put them exactly as he always did. He could tell where to put them by little scratches and indents in the wood that he slaved over as he sat alone one day in the cold, quiet basement underneath his house.
He sat down and opened the book he kept on the table. He hadn't written anything for a long, long while, and his story never came to him as he hoped it would. He wished he were a writer - able to transfer his emotions and his beliefs to others through simple ink and paper. But never was he able to transfer his emotions and feelings onto paper. It was always so hard; whenever he attempted to write all that came out was a line of words that held no meaning. It was as though words could never explain what he felt, and he hated that.
He meant to open to a blank page, but accidentally he turned to one already half-full of his pathetic little scrawl. It haunted him. Deciding to read over it, he was shocked by how stupid it sounded to him, how worthless it felt on paper. He sat there for a few minutes, staring at each letter's imperfections, before silently, in one moment, he placed a hand over all the pages he had written in, and tugged painstakingly at them as he freed them from their binds.
Carefully he raised the pages to the candle beside him, and he made sure they all burned well, leaving naught but ash on his desk as he worked.

"Uh...I-" Crillic began, stuttering and almost completely silent with his words, so much so that she hadn't even noticed he was there until he stepped onto a twig and made it snap.
"Umm...Hello, Good Morning I mean to say," Crillic stuttered, She still hadn't said a thing, her beautiful blue eyes scattering up and down, observing his every limb, as if she was trying to memorize every aspect of him.
"My name is Crillic, I've been-" "Watching me." She replied sharply, cutting him off, "For several weeks now, every morning, I've seen you there every time, the question is, why?"
"Well I've been uh-" "What?" you've been what?" "I've been...admiring you...a lot...lately...." Crillic lied.
"And what is it you've been admiring me about?" She humphed, "...Your aura, I'm curious to know how the water reacts to it like that...was it genetic or was it something you learned?" Crillic said, faking his interest.
"Well, it's quite easy, you just...feel the water and...flow it through you..." She told him, moving her arms throughout the water, making it shine and create tiny ripples through the surface.
"Uh...thanks, I'll try that one day...Goodbye," Crillic quickly stuttered again before turning around and leaving, ashamed that he didn't even have the courage to tell her why he had REALLY been watching her for these past couple of weeks. With his head down low and feeling disappointed, he gathered his things, ready for his transition.

When he was finished, he sighed and closed his eyes. "Why am I stupid?" he muttured to himself, as no-one else was in the room. You're not stupid. With his eyes still closed, he allowed his head to rest upon the remains of the book on the table, digging his head into his arms as he did, "I'm... I'm an idiot." Your intelligence amazes even me, Edren. "But... I'm so stupid..." Others are a lot more 'stupid' than you are... You're just different, that's all. The voice grew weary all of a sudden, as if it was terribly sad at something. Edren turned his head on it's side, "Why? I... I might be more intelligent, but... I mean, I can do things others cannot, but... I can't do what I want to do..." He thought he heard a whisper, but he couldn't make it out. Edren stared at the book on the desk sadly, before closing it's cover over the remaining pages and standing. The book was still quite thick, even with the removed pages. He felt so sorry for the pages he burned... "Why didn't I just leave them...?" he asked, still feeling sorry for their demise.
He blew out all the candles but one, and then clambered up to the top of his house before blowing it out and placing the cloth back over the secret entrance to his basement. "...Why am I different when I only want to be normal?" That's not what you want, is it? He smiled slightly, "Who knows?"

Crillic met up with Niore before leaving, he didn't want to go by himself and felt safer if someone else travelled with him, "Trale?" Crillic spoke, getting his attention from a group of children who were busy using the many colours of aura to make a tree glow those colours, Niore was clapping and laughing, congratulating them.
It wasn't until Crillic had to practically yell his name before he turned around, still happy, "Oh hey, what is it you need, Crillic?" Niore asked, almost as if he forgot that it was the morning of which they had to depart the Forest. "Niore...We need to go to the Mountain now, you do remember the letter you were given by the Elders don't you?" Crillic reminded him, "Oh yeah," Niore replied. Crillic's suspicions were correct. "I'll just get a few things, and I'll join you," He told him before rushing into a small, wooden house about 8-10 metres away.
Crillic turned around and watched the children, who were laughing and clearly proud of their success, Crillic smiled and held out his arm, shooting a blast of aura to the tree, shaking it and causing it to shower many of it's leaves down onto the children, who at first were a little frightened but now were smiling and cheering, jumping up and catching the many coloured leaves that were falling down into their small, delicate hands.
Crillic laughed and enjoyed the sight, he longed to be just a child again, so young and naive, suddenly, something caught his eye, it was Ercilia. She had one of her hands on a Snow Leopard who was striding closely beside her, showing a close bond between them. They were walking quite quickly, down one of the windy tracks partially concealed by the huge, ancient trees, and within a few moments, she was gone.
Crillic was about to run after her, curious about where she was going but was distracted by Niore murmuring to himself and walking up next to him, "I'm ready," Niore bluntly said, tossing a small, hand-woven bag over one shoulder.

Seracoran - the city of the Ancients. Not the most technological location, nor the most modern, but Seracoran was one of the few Ancient locations that actually had large buildings and structures. Seracoran - home of the Sera. At the heart of the city lies the Council of Sera, housed by what appears to be a large two-storey building with the banners of different tribes attached to the spire at the top. However, below the surface lies three storeys of Ancient secrets and documents only accessible to the Elders.
The road from Reisi to Seracoran is long and arduous, however many Ancients travel there at least once in their lives to visit the home of the Elders, the Sera, and their Council. What most of these people do not know is that this 'Council' is just a figurehead for the real Council. The Council of Kora overlooks Seracoran from a mountain on a foreign continent known only to few, however this is generally treated as a legend with no real truth behind it, for no-one has actually been able to find the mountain, and if they have they have not returned. Why exactly this Council of Kora seems to exist is a good question to which not many can answer, and those that can keep their mouths shut tight.
Many use the journey from Reisi to Seracoran as a pilgrimage in which they strengthen their bonds with their Spirit Beasts and themselves, and many can be fascinated by the amount of knowledge and tradition held in Seracoran, however life in Seracoran is a lot busier and faster than most other locations, and due to this, some people may be infected by Modepathy Disease, which is not really a disease at all, but actually an Ancient explaination for the situation in which one's bonds with their inner selves and their spirit beasts become weary and can even die, forcing the person to lose control over their abilities and meditation.
Crillic and Trale would begin this pilgrimage together, not knowing fully what to expect upon arrival. The Elders had called them specifically, however, and it seems invisible strings were beginning to be put into place...

Crillic and Niore, out of the Forest, began walking along the Great Plains, a huge, war-torn part of The World that was clearly the centerpiece of many battles, as they walked along, they saw the misty beyond, covering most of what seemed to be huge stone mountains, and Crillic knew it was some sort of Spire, or Mountain, where the Elder Ancients resided, but the appearance remained an unpainted canvas to Crillic.
Niore talked noisily, about everything(Well, it seemed so in Crillic's perspective), how he taught his pupils, his ancestors, his wife which 'mysteriously' disappeared, and other uninteresting facts about his life.
"So what's your story?" Niore asked, waking Crillic up from his deep thinking, "Uh, my story? What do you mean, story?" "Y'know, your parents, your life in the Forest, ancestors..." "Well, I...My parents lived in the Mountains, their teachings forbid them to keep me, so the Elders took me and taught me for a while, then when I was about 10, my Mother, who would visit me from time to time, told me that I had to leave and live in the Forest, she told me I would be safe there, that was the last time I saw or heard anything from either of my parents."
Niore was clearly deeply thinking about this, because he was nodding and looking down, a bit unsure of what to say next, "So...You never heard of your father?" He asked eventually, "Just stories, I was only little when the Elders took me, but I heard he was a very good man, quite attached to the Council and it's members," Crillic replied quickly, obviously not very attached to the matter, nor did he care about it.
"Any...Children? Wife?" Trale asked again, "No, none," Crillic told him blankly, the question and the utter word 'wife' unnerved him, constantly making him remember the girl down in the river, and her mysterious walk deeper into the Forest, it almost made him want to go back.
As they continued walking, the trip was much more silent, and they both noticed huge cracks in the ground, and an abyss that loomed deep inside, they went on for miles, clearly it wasn't a natural occurence, but it did interest the both of them.
