This is probably the best strategy game, I think my favorite team is Dwarves or Elves.

haha, me, milk and scott.A(yr8) played a game, scott's net died, i got kicked off by7 mum+dad, and milk was left with 3 brutals hehe soz. had to laugh

I have never played as Angmar, Dwarves or Isengard but I have played the rest. The Elves have the best heros for sure but my loyalty lies with the Goblins. They are just so damn cool! Just look at their fortress:  |

This is probably the best strategy game ... You've ever played. Ever played Dawn of War II? What about Age of Empries III? Warcraft III? Empire: Total War? Starcraft II? Reign of Rome? Civilisation IV? The Entente? Company of Heros? Real-Time Stratergy games are my favorite computer games by far and when I think of an "Greatest RTS Game Of All Time" Award, those above mentioned games come to mind. As for ROTWK... I'm not so sure. Its a good game. But it lacks the sense of real battle craftsmanship that really good RTS games have. 70% of the time your worrying about if your peasents are getting enough resources to fuel new cannon fodder. The custom AI for the CPU is EXTREMLY repetitive, it simply lets off a few minor attacks and then sits and waits untill you attempt to blow it away, the "repetitive AI" benchmark is one that a lot of RTS games suffer from, the only difference is in this game the battle stratergy for the AI doesn't differ from different factions. Now I'm only pointing out the bad things about the game, I still think its an awesome game. Definatly a head-and-shoulders above most RTS games that litter the game shop shelves. It just has a few creases that need ironing. Still, Macca gives it 3.9/5. |
