I think I already said this (too lazy to check), but Kingdom Hearts makes Final Fantasy look dumb and stupid. And pathetic.

Kingdom Hearts is a children's version of Final Fantasy, but with Disney characters. They ruined characters from FF in Kingdom Hearts as well. Examples:

Donald Duck and Goofy constantly in your party were enough to turn me off the game. Sora was cool until you pressed "New Game". He's annoying and dumb. He's also a silent protaganist... Or is he? No he isn't. But he's supposed to be. The only time he isn't a silent protagonist is when they're making him look all wussy and when there's a shy teenage 'romance scene' (SPOILERS IN THIS BRACKET!!!!!!!!!!!!! ->Kairi! Where were you!? Oh no!!! WHAT'S HAPPENING!? KAIRI!!!!! NOOOO!!!!!!!!!! -The End-) between Sora and Kairi.

Kairi is hot in the second one (based two years after the first one. She's grown quite a bit in 2 years, btw ;P).

But apart from that, she sucks.
Riku is friggen awesome.
There's also a girl that draws things and they come to life, she's got whte hair but I don't know her name. She -looks- awesome. I think.

I never finished Kingdom Hearts (I know just about everything that happens in it though) because my game stuffed up and unfortunately I could never get out of Aladdin's World. D:
I tried it though, hated it, and wished it never existed. Kingdom Hearts II looks cool, except that there's no point whilst KH1 sucked. Also, for some reason, sometimes if you die in KHII, Mickey will come to save the day or some crap.

Play Final Fantasy if you liked Kingdom Hearts. And NOT Final Fantasy X-2. I'd suggest VIII, but it costs about $150-200AUD to buy. You can buy the most popular FF, FFVII, in a glass case inside Gamesmen in Penrith, but I think it costs $300 =/
I don't have FFVII, but I didn't really like it anyway. You can get IX (my second favourite) for $100AUD. X (3rd favourite) is like $20-30 at any store, do not touch X-2, XI is not counted as it's a P2P MMORPG and not the same genre nor style, XII sucks but can be bought for maybe $50.

The best choice for money is FFX. The best choice for quality is:\
IX for first FF
VIII for experienced gamer
XII for those who don't mind having gay main characters and do not care about crappy storyline excuses.
