They weren't eating at McDonalds! >.<
It's basically a love story that turned out awfully sad because everyone ended up broken-hearted in the end.

1. Yes they were eating at McDonalds. There was a cup with a big, golden 'M' on it, Macca's style. It was McDonald's. 2. Yes. Yes they do. And they are very sad people indeed.

Solty Rei. In a nutshell, from what I've gathered, it's like this: The Aurora Shell (or whatever it's called) is some kind of barrier, almost like the ozone layer, that covers a certain part of the world (I'm not exactly sure how big it is). A few years before the anime is set, something triggered the Aurora Shell to have a massive storm which killed (billions?), and wounded many people. Due to this, many, many people lost limbs and other body parts. A company began creating 'Resemble', which is essentially a robotic limb or body part that takes place of and resembles the old, lost body part. Many people now use Resemble to replace lost limbs, not only from the Aurora Storm incident, but also from other daily incidents that you may encounter. The main character of the anime is, as you've seen, a bounty hunter (someone who kills Wanted people for money). He works for a company that accepts bounties and other jobs. The girl we see with the green hair, is what I think to be a full-body Resemble, meaning that she isn't exactly human, but a created (robot?) that is made to resemble a human. Because of this, she can be shot and not be wounded, and is stronger then the average human. If you get too close to the Aurora Shell (example, try to fly a plane), you will be struck by the Aurora Shell and incinerated. The main character lost his daughter in the Aurora Storm those few years back, and now lives alone as the bounty hunter he is. When this girl saves his life (the green-haired girl), he allows her to rest in his apartment for one night, but then asks her to leave. At the end of the episode we see her save him once more, and her still following him, and that's basically the end of episode 1. You may also use this thread to discuss the anime we are watching, or anything like that. Feel free ^-^!

Howl's Moving Castle (a movie), which will take maybe 3 lunchtimes, maybe 2 to watch.
